Health Notice – Influenza A

Dear Epping North OSHCP Families,

Please be aware we have just been informed that last week a child attended the Centre who has since been diagnosed with Influenza A and H1N1 (Swine Flu).

We ask that parents please familiarise themselves with the signs and symptoms of Influenza A and visit their local GP if they have any concerns.

Influenza A and H1N1 are viral diseases of the respiratory tract characterised by fever, chills, headache, muscle aches and pains, a head cold and a mild sore throat.

More information can be found on the Influenza Fact Sheet .

We would like to remind families that the Centre must be notified should your child contract any infectious disease and as per Centre policy, children who have contracted an infectious disease will be excluded from care during the infectious period. In addition, children who do not have up to date vaccinations against the infectious disease may also be excluded from care to ensure their health and safety.

Regards,
