Health Notice – Measles

Dear Epping North OSHCP Families,

Please be aware we have just been informed that there has been a confirmed case of Measles at the Centre this week.

We ask that parents please familiarise themselves with the signs and symptoms of Measles and visit their local GP if they have any concerns.

Measles symptoms can include a fever, rash, runny nose, cough, conjunctivitis and around 6% of people also get pneumonia. Please note that it is highly contagious.

More information can be found in the Staying Health in Child Care  HEALTH FACT SHEET - Measles

We would like to remind families that the Centre must be notified should your child contract any infectious disease and as per Centre policy, children who have contracted an infectious disease will be excluded from care during the infectious period. In addition, children who do not have up to date vaccinations against the infectious disease may also be excluded from care to ensure their health and safety.

Regards,
Jodie Irvine
